Looks like you'll be leaving your regular clothes behind to fit all your acquisitions in your luggage, heh heh. I was able to send home most of the stuff I bought with relatives that left for the Philippines yesterday and the day before. If not, there would be no way that I would be able to take home all the uniforms and gear without incurring exorbitant excess luggage fees. I'll be in Spain tom., so I'll be hitting the flea markets looking for Spanish Civil War stuff as well as post WW2 Spanish stuff. Have to be careful though with what I buy now...

Cool! Last year, when I attended the Fort MacArthur event, there was a group of reenactors portraying the Spanish Civil War period. It would be great to see what they have there. I'm keeping an eye on your posts!

Cool! Last year, when I attended the Fort MacArthur event, there was a group of reenactors portraying the Spanish Civil War period. It would be great to see what they have there. I'm keeping an eye on your posts! That's interesting, and new to me... I didn't know that people reenacted that particular era. This is a store in Barcelona that sells militaria, and have quite a bit of Spanish Civil War items. www.militariabcn.com/entrada.php?lang=angI'll be checking them out the day after tom. They even have a Condor Legion buckle (it's under buckles). I'll be going there to pick up a helmet crest for my old Spanish helmet (the one that looks like a German M-42), which I have been having a hard time finding. They are pricey though. Flea markets are still the best deal when it comes to price. I'll be looking for German items as well of course. I'll be going to Madrid after Barcelona, and they may have more stuff there. From there I go to Italy, so I'll be looking for WW2 Italian and German uniforms/ gear.

Some French badges I was able to get, these came from different stores and flea markets. I have more, just haven't taken pics of the others yet. I got quite a lot of French uniforms and field gear, mostly para stuff though. Two of my "treasures" are a French Para beret with the metal Para badge made by Drago) on it and a numbered Para brevet for the uniform, which are hard to find, as they stopped numbering brevets to specific paratroopers several years back. Also got some French Bigeard caps, one in Indochina lizard camo. Most of these are made by Drago, which, as far as I know, are what collectors desire, so I went out of my way to look specifically for Drago-made badges.

French para beret with beret badge (beret badge is a Drago), numbered parachutist's brevet (Number is stamped on back, 26811, supposed to correspond to a specific paratrooper. Only the older brevets are numbered. They stopped the numbering thing many years ago). French dogtags, pinback device, "Forces Francaises En (or Ein, am not sure) Allemagne". Background is a French F1 sleeveless vest. French military beret with beret badge (I don't know the unit...), another beret badge... Shoulder sleeve insignia, 5th Armored (the rectangular patch at the top right with a horse in the middle), pinback device, French Air Force, "Armee De L'Air, Chiens De Guerre" (French Air Force K-9 or Dog Handlers).

Spanish 1940's Colonel's uniform tunic, looks to be private purchase. Has a tailor's tag which reads; "Mendoza, Zaragoza". The Spanish officer's school was in Zaragoza... Don't know if it still is. Spanish 1940's officer's leather belt with buckle... It's a match to the Colonel's tunic above. Another Spanish officer's tunic to a lieutenant (star on cuffs) not 1940's though... Current issue Spanish combat uniform jacket... It has padded shoulders, I guess to cushion the LBE harness. Spanish flag on left sleeve. French "Bigeard" cap, Indochina lizard camo pattern. Chinese military WW2/ 1940's water bottle/ canteen. Interestingly, these were also used by Japanese troops in WW2. At the WAF there pics of these with Japanese stamps/ markings.

My FJ impression is moving forward... I just got my FJ helmet cheap from ebay seller youchunhe. I won it for just a little above 2500 pesos. No eagle decal, but I'm not complaining I suggest you try out the seller. He has some cheap items, and he ships promptly after payment. He sent it by regular post, so I did not have to pay anything other than the regular P 40 fee

@sir Albert and Jojo: Thanks! By the way, I just won another item on ebay. This time, it's a pair of m1936 suspenders. Free shipping, so the total is around 750 pesos. I hope it doesn't get taxed I think I've caught the ebay bug already hahaha.
