@sir Labrador: Oh, so you bought from Phil too. I bought my splinter helm cover from him. Too bad it shrank when I belatedly discovered that our househelp washed it.

Wow! Nice finds otacon! And in great condition too! mikevictor - just soak your helmet cover in water then stretch it over your helmet and air dry. It'l fit perfectly again. labrador - after seeing your insignia from phil i decided to order from him as well. Just a few new stuff this week: 1) Original (but postwar) plash palatka (russian shelter quarter/rain cape) with one side rolled up: rolled for shoulder carry: This is identical to the wartime issue with the exception of the brass grommets. The wartime plash had leather grommets. It was this type of post war plash that was used in the movie Enemy at the Gates by both Zietsev and Konig... The mask even looks like ed harris 2) Original Post war german canvas gaiters from saxisip 3) Traded in my repro M42 stahlhelm for waffen's M35. Repainted it a weathered normandy camo scheme. 4) Replica Panerai KampfSchwimmer Kriegsmarine watch from my wife.

AGM MP44 for 6800. Now I'm wondering how hard it is to have the mags replicated. I don't know how to do the slight curve, but we have the bending and stamping machines to pull it off. For the insides, I think a low cap mp5 mag from divi.

The ones I have seen used by the German military had sub-seconds dials. The markings on the back were pretty simple... DH was for Army, forgot what the markings on the back were for Luftwaffe & Kriegsmarine. I do know that Panerai were issued to divers (frogmen) in the Italian Navy during WW2, but a different model. Panerai was one of the first 3 "true" dive watches.

I said I wouldn't spend on anything airsoft related this week. I lied. I couldn't help it. Today I bought this wire mesh mask from Opoy's MAS. So far, the only down side is that you have to strap and unstrap the helmet everytime you take it off as the face mask ends way below the chin. But I can finally finally breath normally. The wife got me these china made plastic RAF repro goggles. I'm nervous about how much impact the acetate lenses can take. Perhaps i'll switch to screen soon. Also it's quite hard to aim out of one lens. the leather padding gets in the way. But it looks way more period than all the modern stuff i've got. I'll probably try to get the chrome off and paint the frame flat black or dark brown to make it less conspicous. And here's the stuff that arrived from Phil's militaria for my FJ impression in the making, plus an infantry assault badge: And lastly, an excellent pair of Mang Ner's German schnur schuhe.

darktide - with the exception of the strap and the lack of the panerai label, it is spot on. Did a lot of research too. @albert - great stuff from philsmilitaria. I'm thinking about using that mask too.

@sir bert.. the goggles are good for the fight as long as no "modern guys" would shoot you at close range... but yes! mesh is much better. cheapest mesh supply is to buy the mesh bin at any hardware store in malls..(handyman,d.i.y shops). same material they use for the mesh mask.
during aug1 me and noy pumba tested the industrial goggles with polycarbon fiber material.. at 4.5feet the sides can take the hit from my mp40 but the front shattered the poor thing..hehe.. so again the mesh is the champ or an ess goggles.
