New Mauser pistole and FJ M38 helmet: Some of you know about the epic quest for the Mauser pistole...after 4 hours walking and haranguing the staff at two airsoft shops it's finally mine! The HH or Well brand gas non-blowback mauser C96 known in stores as "German Luger" hahahahahah. Magazine takes 26 rounds and was clocked at 330 FPS. Other reviews state 400FPS on a full tank of gas but we'll have to wait and see. (no more budget for gas). This also arrived courtesy of Jim and AGC airsoft: My FJ M38. It sits a bit high on the head and so will need to be adjusted. Hopefully Mang Ner can find a solution. Nice leather webbing with markings. It arrived in a weird pale grey which i surmise is primer: cgi.ebay.com/WWII-GERMAN-FALLSCHIRMJAGER-M38-HELMET-5202-/300448623068?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0#ht_5391wt_881So i mixed up a slurry of white glue, fine sand and tamiya field blue and basically slopped it on. After the initial coat, i rubbed the excess sand off and painted another coat of blue, followed by a thin coat of Tamiya navy or sea blue. I'm pretty satisfied with the texture now and it'll be followed by a heavily weathered three tone scheme of dark yellow, red brown and a light pea green. I will then put it on and do about 50 PLF's (Parachute Landing Falls) on to rough scrub and gravel. If my neck isn't broken yet, i will have achieved the look i want.

labradorWhat happened to it? They misplaced it? Whats the Well or HH brand? Trying to look for the stats online.

I thnik it's a clone of a clone but the box reads HH. By the description though it's the same as the Well. Someone bought it minutes before i stepped in and when i asked them to reserve the one from makati for me, they raised the price by 1000 bucks! Thing is, Bob was at the other store and they quoted him the old price so i said i wouldn't get it unless it was at the old price. Basically i hurumphed and walked off deciding to go on a quest for uniform material instead. I found some perfect linen for german army undershirts in both afrika and mouse grey color on sale at 50 bucks a yard so i bought that instead. I then made a beeline for the hardware store to look for a battery case for my busrted ESS goggles and didn't find any. I then realized that i was now much closer to their other branch so i crossed edsa. After half an hour of searching i finally found the store and made them promise to sell the last one for me the next day at the old price. They reluctantly agreed. So victorious, i started on my way back to mega mall when i spied a booksale shop and a rare coppy of werner palinckx book "german army camouflage unifoprms of WW2" for sale at 850 bucks. I grabbed it since that book costs around 4000 pesos at amazon. and thus ended my 4 hour quest. I returned the next day and as agreed, they sold me the gun at the old price.

Great looking helmet, Albert! I want to do that to mine but i'll have to wait for the decals before applying texture. BTW, how long did you have to wait for the white glue to dry? Does it adhere well to the shell? The texture looks great. I may do the same for my original M42.
