The origional color is a dark olive but faded to light olive in the sun, fabric is similar to VN canvas jungle boots. The tall boots shown above were not as common or liked very much and more worn with shorts or cavalry pants, the ankle high version ones or just solid brown leather ankle boots were more common and worn with or without leggings when trousers were worn, rolled socks with shorts.

How did your meeting with the tailor go? I'd probably get a pair of breeches. Any estimate on ow much the boots would cost?

another option for the DAK boots is the ankle type... shorter and not with the odd feeling like a band majoret.. you can also wear sexy shorts with that! hehehe... and i think that would be much cheaper to produce..
asper herr kalbs statement... Cha-ching! (Cash register bell)!!!!....

From other pictures I saw, the DAK uniform as pictured earlier is almost the same shade as the Khaki PS uniform John Rey is making. The cut is almost the same as the Phil. Scouts Class A uniform and riding breeches. Getting the right shade is a bit confusing. I have a tunic that is greener than this. I will go for the classic look with the pith helmet that you can easily buy from epic militaria.

what shade is the undershirt on the 2nd pic. i think i can use my east German brown officer belt, my delema is i have to by 2 sets for me and my son so might as well be an officer to to minimize $$$$$. one more question do officer use the high laced boots too, coz for Philippine Scout only nco use laced boots the officers use buckled leather leggings.

Yes the officers were often photographed in the high lace up boots.

jn's getting it, Research, research, research. Please becareful with web postings of repro items as guides. I have seen so many bad repros out there and items made that didn't exist. Also, 9/10 of the time the posted images do not capture the real colors. High quality photos in printed books are still the best guide.
