Hey guys : ) thanks for the post for me albert : ) i'm such techie illiterate that i dont know anything beyond yahoo mail and facebook : )
being lonely in a foreign land can make you do things...surplus and thrift shops have become my getaways over the weekends. The coat was a $ 8.00 steal at goodwill (local ukay ukay here), so was the russian helmet at $10 because it had damages that mighty bond easily addressed. Other stuff where last stock items, so was able to haggle for some obscenely low prices.
mikevictor, the bandoleers are amazingly aged just right, if not for the freshly painted buttons, this would seem like its its been fresh from the battle field
Otacon, books were from amazon and some book thrift shops, way below commercial rates. Maybe once I go back in December, before I fly back to the U.S. , we can all order together and i'll just pay and recieve them here and pack all the stuff in a balikbayan box to save on shipping and customs.
Jim, you did a great job on painting the items : ) don't worry, i'm still in the lookout for your stuff : )
Can't wait to go home for our december games, and Panzerfront, i'll just be hitching with santa on a spitfire on the way home : )
Hi Medic, haven't had a chance to welcome you-- glad the ranks is increasing : )... btw, are there still some mauser's over at vincents?
Jojo, I took your advise on slow but thrifty bargain hunting to heart : ), tried to be very patient, on items that are so tempting, and just wait out for that possible "steal".
Yes kalbs, this thread is a shopping catalyst hehehe, I have to keep reminding myself... control... that's the month's rent and food...
I'll ask albert to post the british load out which I recently acquired-- I am very very happy on this lot, Gurkha and SAS on the horizon : )
