I'll wait for the lower rear handguard to arrive. It's on the way already. I will post all the measurements later.

That is "WW2 airsoft alliance" 2nd Bat's kit where I also patterned my Garand conversion. I am having it done all in wood now. I just need to check the fitting as soon as its finished.

Yup, REMF is 2nd Bat's callsign on the VN boards.
Mcshine,
So are you having the gas block done in wood as well?

I see. I believe his molded kits use resin copies of the gas block, allowing them to be priced half of his conversion kits using real garand parts.

For cost cutting measures resin is ok and easy to build. But I prefer to make ( assemble actually ) it as close as possible to the original. The parts are available thru ebay but I got mine from a long-time gunsmith in Bacolod by scavenging thru his old junk parts. Just lucky...

Here you go guys. First batch of HANDGUARDS ( Lower Rear and Front ) very rough finish , fitted with the metal bands. Gunstock still unfinished so I don't know yet how much its going to cost per set of the wooden parts ( metals not included but I'll make sure it will fit )

Looks great, mcshine! I can't wait to start assembling. Once i get the gas block from you, i'll look into how to mass produce it. I was thinking maybe in brass or aluminium like Shoot and scoot.

Hey guys! here's the final M1 Garand with all wooden parts. Though I did a lousy job on the staining: I have to hack-out the M14 butt-plate and put some putty to make it look like an M1
