Just a thought...
Gearing up is not complete without photo ops. But would you get yourself dirty to get the ultimate pose or keep your gear clean and looking new?
What I do is...wash my new gear to look worn. In the field before the shoot, I sit on the ground, smear some soil and dirt to my camo and helmet...then pose. Hahaha. I can always wash it after. ;D

Actually what i've noticed from our photos is we need grime on our faces. soldiers of the HJ division used to put boot black on their faces to help camouflage. Ok, who's hardcore enough???!!! I'm game.

I stand by keeping my gear dirty, but sanitary. Face paint won't be an issue. Plus one of us actually had a mohawk before, and I've no problems doing it too. Now that's hardcore Airborne.

lower your helmets when having the shoot so when the camera shoots they wont see much of our face ... which some of us is doing it already. the uniform, let it have some dirt... after the game wash it ofcourse then sun dry it so the color would fade naturally. if you guys notice my gears they are naturaly worn and weatherd.. dont be afraid of your stuff losing the bright new color look. soldiers intend to look like the surroundings. same thing applies to our helmets.. hit the ditch if everything is popping loose..

Nothing like a game or three to get the grime in. Where do we get kiddie face paint?
