AGM MP44 Review

WEATHERING TRICKS:
The weathering is really just painting. I sanded down the raised portions of the aeg to bare metal then applied a clear gloss coat. (Do not sand the gas tube as this is made from copper)

After the clear coat dried I applied Testors's Buffable Gun metal color spray paint from a spray can in 3 very light coats.

Once the paint is dry (30 minutes) I buffed the high lighted raised areas again so the clear coated metal metal high lights are exposed but not through the clear coat. Your Metal parts are now done.

For the pistol grip I applied Tamiya Red brown acylic model paint with a brush and once dry masked the grip area and applied another coat of clear over the red brown. Once the clear coat was dry I used black shoe polish (the type you get in the bottle with a sponge head) and let this semi dry then wiped off the wet stuff.

On the real wood stock I dinged it up with some tools creating scratches and dings then also used the same shoe polish letting some of the polish rest in the recesses of the added marks. Let it all dry. Finally add a kar98 sling and... Ta Da! Done Herr Peter. Give it a try. If you mess up you can always repaint it black again.

HOP-UP & INNER BARREL REMOVAL
Under where the fore most receiver screw was located and in the same hole is an allen set screw which hold the other barrel in place. Remove this and slide the outer barrel forward. Now you can remove the inner barrel with the hop-up.

Would you know if extra mags are available? Have you modified the pin yet? I lost the oring on mine and i have to use a rubber band to hold the thing in place.

it has a M4/M16 hop up chamber so M4/M16 airseal nozzle should be compatible also, right?

@ Jimmi: Spare Mags are available without problem. I modified the pin by drilling a small hole on the end and use a cotter pin to hold it in. Stays put and easy to remove.

@ otacon14th: Yes, same as the M4

UPDATE: Spare mags for the AGM MP44 cost HK$90.00 (556 pesos) and an AGM Leather sling for this gun sells for HK$180 (1,112 pesos)

The sole purpose of this board B20 was for us to see how fast we could make you spend your money

...and Golfers think they have an expensive hobby... Ha! that's cheap compaired to ours.

You won't regret buying this AEG but for doing impressions there are few things that you must be aware of. The color and the wrong size pistol grip. The color is an easy fix but not much you can do about the size of the pistol grip except paint it wood color.

Seriously, this is a handsome looking weapon. I wouldn't mind including this in my collection especially it is way, way cheaper than the Shoei one. This and the FG42 and maybe I'll be at peace? Then again, maybe not.
