Filipino Heroes of World War II

I finally found my copy of the book "Filipino Heroes of World War II" written by Colonel Uldarico S. Baclagon.



Actually, this book belongs to my dad, who has given this to me. My dad was still working at the Office of the President at Malacanang when this book came out. The author, signed a copy and gave it to my dad.



What makes this book personal to my dad was the fact that my uncle, his brother was a guerilla who fought against the Japanese and received a citation for his actions.

According to my dad, my uncle "Pedring", as I called him, was able to escape the Bataan Death March and joined the guerillas.
My uncle Pedring passed away in 1978 of heart attack.

As far as I know, this book lists all Filipinos who won a medal during World War II. If you have a relative who won one, chances are, he or she is listed here. Let me know if you want me to look up names.

Hey Ellen, Efren Rocamora is my first cousin, that makes you my niece. Cool. Okay then, I stand corrected, my Uncle Pedring died of Heart Attack. I was in high school when it happened. I was recalling from my own memories. Say hi to everyone!
