Toyman, ready for play!!! Well, my nickname is so much of a giveaway, I literally am an overgrown kid who collects toys, and actually a genuine nerd at heart. I am that sort of guy- like pumba- am a sucker for big broadway musical, big bands, and classical music—I played the violin for several years in my youth, while being active in the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (attended 2 world jamborees) and my model making hobby, where I remember, my first kits where the ESCI 1/72 tank/diorama series—at one point – got obsessed with big ships, culminating in that huge Matchbox corvette ship that my younger brother took only a few seconds to blow up in a flooded pond with a super lolo. I have now concentrated in 1/6 WW2 action figures and vehicles.
Yup, I’m a voltes V freak, did the rounds of Combat and Rat Patrol- a reconciled Trekkie and a Star Wars fanatic- and I cried during the last installation of Toy Story 3.’’
I come from a family of artists, but my roots in Mindanao are from a warrior clan in Jolo, Sulu, where my father’s uncle Capt. Abdulrahim Imao and his two brothers, decimated two landing crafts full of Japanese forces on the shores of Jolo, and was credited for this fete with a life size diorama at the AFP museum in Taguig, and the book “Among the Bravest” by Admiral Espaldon.
I was the Corps Commander in High School, nearly went for the PMA- got jailed several times for “public disturbance” as a student activist during my UP Days in Architecture, A mountaineer like sir Labrador (where we met).
Did bartending at a bar we founded with fellow UP activists—Freedom Bar at Quezon City, while practicing as a professional visual artist, mostly doing historical monuments and shrines for the Philippine Government.
I thought for a while at the UP College of Fine Arts, and am now currently studying under scholarship here in Baltimore for 2 years for an MFA in sculpture.
I seriously got into airsoft in May 2008, and started a modest armory of modern guns till that fateful day in Jan 2009 on the eve of the Gunban where I came across sir Labrador and his politically incorrect clad party : ) in a middle of a gunfight that I was shown the light—this is the direction I want to go with this hobby—and the rest is what you would say – is history (no pun intended).
I now play with my son, and enjoy the games better with more relaxed and level headed players unlike most “moderns” who I have had very frustrating and terrible experiences with in the playing field—this group has become my safe haven.

Toyman, where's the AFP museum in Taguig? I'd want to see it if it's still around.... if I'm not mistaken its near ARMY grandstand, behind the officer's club? You can see the armoured vehicle displays along the main road.

I think Toyman means the veterans hospital museum, deep inside FTI, taguig. IT's beside the veterans medical center. there's an M5 stuart sitting outside.

Hello guys, My first post an this cool forum :-) I live in Europe and have been playing WW2 Airsoft for about 7~8 years now, have been collecting WW2 stuff for quite some time longer. Some of my impressions are FSSF, SBS, Commando, LRDG, 49th Division (UK), UK Para, 509th PIB, 517th PRCT... But my main interest is the Pacific War, so i have a few USMC and Japanese impressions as well. I have a small blog about the USMC & IJA m1pencil.wordpress.com/
