Hi guys,
Since it's been really quiet here i'd like to pose a particular question that's been bugging me. As far as airsoft games are concerned (not including photo shoots) would you rather play in full WW2 gear (to get an authentic feel of the equipment and load) or would you rather play in just basic, what is needed gear.
For example: The AGM mp 44 carries approximately 3-400 bb's in a magazine. Would you carry your pouches into battle? how about helmet instead of einheits feldmutze, or pilotka, or jeep cap, canteen, bread bag, other pouches?
Keep in mind, i'm not knocking anyone's style here. Just curious and looking for a little discussion.
Me, i tend to stay between the two styles, sticking a bit more towards a full, field loadout just to make sure the gear gets weathered. but sometimes i'm tempted to wear just the smock and belt - ugly but practical.

Not full gear but I do like wearing the helmet, leggings. pouches and web gear. I think it all depends on the game and location for me. Last game I wore USMC stuff and carried the Tommy. Cover (cap), pistol belt, straps, mag pouch and canteen. It was actually practical for that game. Kept the k-bar, leggings and helmet at home that day.

I usually play with everything on except the entrenching tool and stick grenade. Although German gear is 99% useless on the airsoft field. The breadbag holds my gatorade. My gas mask cannister holds my wallet, cell phone, and car keys. The mess tin+zeltbahn+A frame is actually my "vest" (i keep it on to protect my back). MP40/44 magpouches are there for obvious reasons. I even have the luger holster (i do whip the pistol out on very rare occasions). I always use the helmet to protect my ears and nape. The canteen and the k98 pouches, jackboots are there for style. So everything has a use afterall! Sometimes, it is a hassle to wear everything between games, but i've already brought them all anyway. Besides, whenever i just want to play the game and not dress up, i just go modern.

i always wear my smock and the helm cover.. ive always love to put local foliage on my helmet cover and smock to blend on the surroundings.. the alpadi place is one we have enjoyed. specially the ambush playing with herr labrador. HOW I LOVE THE GERMAN CAMO UNIFORM. cant wait for the election ends.. not for the result but for the war games.
