Hi again. I had a spare Bar10G lying around so i just did this spur of the moment. Here's a WW2 British Lee-Enfield SMLE look-a-like made out of a Bar10G, 40mm PVC pipe, and sintra board. The goal: Here are the WIP pics: The handguard and stock are also filled with expanding foam

Tried it today. It's all stock except the edgi tight barrel. Cut the airbrake, teflon sealed the cylinder and hop-up, added a spacer to the spring guide...470fps on 0.2g. I hope the sears can take the abuse tho.

Hey Jim,
You can use my tommy helmet anytime. Actually, I was watching ep2 of the pacific and i got to thinking...BAR10 plus Springfield CAT/ROTC Dummy rifle. Darn I knew i shouldve kept mine but heck, they shouldn't be too hard to find.

Thanks guys! Yeah, this was a spur of the moment thing...i just had junray finish my russian kit and now i'm thinking of going brit! This WW2 thing is never ending A springfield would be easy to make. The hard part would be finding the front barrel assembly.

Just remember my CAT days ( citizens army training) were using a real Springfield there's a lot of them, there are dummies available in Qiapo.

Just one question: was the SMLE widely used during the latter part of the war or was it largely replaced with the No. 4?

Dragging this old thread up Jim because I'm going to have a million questions on making this rifle.
Anything you wuld have done differently? I've seen 2ndbats version but the lines of the rifle look a bit wonky. I may try your approach to the furniture using tubing and veneer instead of a lot of putty.

Hi kalbs,
I read that you were able to get some parts? Which parts did you get? The problem with my PVC SMLE is that it's huge when compared with the realsteel nosecap. I originally planned to attach the nose cap to this conversion but i was surprised at how tiny the real thing was. If you have a lot of RS parts (I was able to get a great set at the time), i think it would be better to go full woodworks. But if all you've got is the nose cone, then i think you can still go ahead with this PVC build.
Things i'd do different: 1) Use a Bar10pro instead of the G-spec 2) With the real nosecap as reference, i'd use smaller diameter PVC pipe for the upper handguard, with putty blending it to the nosecap attachment. 3) Instead of PVC, i'd use wood (or sintra) to extend and shape the Bar10 stock for the lower handguard. It'd be easier to shape and fit into the nosecap.
Good luck kalbs!

Thanks Jimmi. I have an almost full set of steel parts coming, not just the nose cap. Yes, I thought about both Sintra and wood parts. The less putty the better. I guess once I get into the planning and have the parts I'll know more. I'll get a standard BAR 10 Sorry for the big pics but thats whats posted on ebay ELgCGk~$(KGrHqYOKk!EyRj-U9sUBM)H!)bn0!~~_3.JPG)
