Very cool. A country with a short history. I still remember when the wall came down. I never understood where that odd looking helmet design came from and always wondered why they just didn't use Soviet or WW2 German helmets

It's not a particularly attractive looking helmet. It's so thin I doubt if it'll give some protection at all.

cool!!! bt0.. missing item i have is that vopo helm.. its hard to get one helm here in manila nowadays..=( I bought mine at a local surplus shop, they had them all piled up at one time. That includes the webbing too. The gas mask bag has an unused gas mask in it. The hardest thing to get was the uniform itself. My references show that NVK or the East Germans have their own special hardware for their AKs. Instead of the wood furniture, they have gray plastic ones. So, this impression isn't all that accurate. Besides, that weapon is an AKM. It's close enough though.

cool!!! bt0.. missing item i have is that vopo helm.. its hard to get one helm here in manila nowadays..=( I think I've seen the helmet being sold in "Asian Finds" or "Asian Treasures" (something like that) in Megamall. They have a pretty good collection of helmets for sale and some do date from WW2. I've also seen a lot of other stuff there... medals, SS & Heer daggers. Forgot the rest. You guys should check it out. I have a bunch of those East German helmets with the rain pattern cover. The interesting thing about the cover is that it has a built-in net which can be unbuttoned to drop the net down. It covers the face. These helmets used to be really cheap.

Yeah, that rain camo pattern for the helmet does have that feature. I also have the net that goes with the helmet. Found another picture set. [

about the helmet: as far as i know, this was already an existing german design and it would have replaced the M35 stalhelm had the war continued. The next panzerfaust also would have been quite similar to the RPG 2.
