We did a run through of Albert's term paper/script this morning at UP for the forthcoming re-enactment of the Battle of Abucay, February 1942. I took some pics: The guys proceed to an open field after meeting up. By cesarphotos at 2011-11-26 Initial discussion of the script: By cesarphotos at 2011-11-26 My notes said, "10:35 am- Albert starts cursing" By cesarphotos at 2011-11-26 There was more than one director in the Japanese contingent as evidenced by this photo: By cesarphotos at 2011-11-26 The 141st Army contingent, plus myself: By cesarphotos at 2011-11-26 The Philippine Scout contingent joins the PA in setting up 'fortifications': By cesarphotos at 2011-11-26 For some reason, it reminded me of Martial Law curfew violators: By cesarphotos at 2011-11-26 The Japanese begin their attack: By cesarphotos at 2011-11-26 The defenders take their first casualty: By cesarphotos at 2011-11-26 The aggressors press their attack. I felt like I was 5 years old again. Bang! You're dead! By cesarphotos at 2011-11-26 Holding the line: By cesarphotos at 2011-11-26 Wounded! The PA carry off a casualty: By cesarphotos at 2011-11-26 Nope, he's dead. Drop him! By cesarphotos at 2011-11-26 Some re-enactors took the final hand to hand fighting a bit too seriously: By cesarphotos at 2011-11-26 Finally, PA resbak arrives and over run the remaining Japanese. Here the survivors get into final formation before marching off into the sunset. A Japanese zombie looks on: By cesarphotos at 2011-11-26 We need more people, please sign up. This should be a blast!

My favorite part of the practice was at the point where Dax is supposed to fling himself over the barbed wire, Selwyn pushes him and he took a face first dive into the grass. Oh, that and dropping the dead guy unceremoniously in the holding area.

Cesar great after report, it adds more excitement before Dec 3 event.
Well for the hand to hand combat we should have our partner like for example , Erich and Dax or Jojo vs Jojo, partners will practice your stunt early morning on the 3rd.

Haha, I lived in the province during those dark Martial Law days. I just see the poor saps on TV, cutting grass in front of Camp Crame. As for choreography, yes, we should assign that when the numbers are complete. Mournblade, looks like M1's weren't assigned to PA, so I'll have to use the tommy gun. If you go as PS, you can use the garand.

Great news folks! I have just received an email from Elvie of MD Juan confirming that the down payment has been made to the pyrotechnics guy thus confirming his participation. The Bus will be at the Trinoma transport terminal at 6 but i asked if they could swing by my place a bit earlier so we can load weapons from here and not in a public place. Meanwhile if anyone has stocks of discarded copper wire (with black insulation) We need tons of it for the "barbed wire" defenses. We'd appreciate any amount.
If possible, I would like all weapons stockpiled here by Friday night so we can load them into the bus before pick up. I have parking space for 3 cars here but I cannot completely guarantee their safety since the area has seen a recent rise in carnappings. I can probably make room for 1 vehicle inside the compound but thats it.
Looks like everything's on track! We just need to finish up the audio for the PA system and get the barbed wire done.

I guess that means it's a go! Any idea what time the 'performance' will be?

I've thought of the chant we can sing when the surviving soldiers march off the field:
"I don't know but I've been told... The Jap attack has been stopped cold... And who was it that stopped them cold? Philippine soldiers brave and bold! 1-2...3-4..."
