Friends;
In connection in the book we are making, since we have a US Marine WW2 Duck Camo like the one used in Iwo Jima we can make a US Marine. My question is, is there s Filipino served the US Marine in WW2 in the Pacific? If yes, then we will include it on the book project we are making about the Filipino Warriors Uniform 1935-45 era.
Pls. advise & thanks in advance; Perry

Hi Perry it will be hard to verify this. I would say there has to to have been Filipinos in the USMC in WW2 just as there were Navajos and all.... but there were the 1st and 2nd Filipino Regiments started in the US specifically for Filipinos. So if I were a Filipino in the US back in WW2, I'd have joined those regiments and be with fellow Filipinos rather than join the USMC.
I recommend leaving it out from the book because we can't verify it. Maybe we can just add variations of a particular unit to add to the book.

Not sure Perry. Most Filipinos in the US Navy served as Mess and laundry staff. There is one Filipino I recall who manned a gun during the Pearl Harbor attack. However, I'm sure there could have been a Pinoy Marine. Something I'll research though.
