I've just started my soviet impression... Opted to go with the Stalingrad/Enemy at the Gates look kit list: pilotka side cap- borrowed from labrador early pattern telegreika padded lacket -tailored Breeches - same as my DAK breeches Plasch palatka raincape -done by tailor East german jack boots Bulgarian ammo pouches scratchbuilt Mosin Nagant M91/30 with PU sniper scope Here it is with the plasch used as a cape... I still have a helmet in the mail (been waiting more than a month for it to arrive from the ukraine) notes: - that padded jacket makes me look really fat. haha. - that furry thing at my feet in the 2nd pic isn't a russian Ushanka winter cap...it's my dog

Finally got the SSH40/M40 Russian Helmet. Been waiting for a month! It's a 50's original, practically identical to the one used in WW2. Got it for usd30. Period three leaf liner and canvas chin strap Stamps

Perfect! Color looks spot on too. Size 2 shell. Does it fit okay?
Where did you order it from Jim?

It fits ok. Though my large head makes it look small. I got from ebay store Tube-USSR.

Great! Can't wait to see your Brit impression next (I take it that you're going airborne, as you wrote that you won a Denison smock). Good luck, sir!
