Hi all! In a bid to attract new members, we propose to host a WW2 airsoft game, open to all. This will be announced on the local airsoft sites, maybe we can make posters and place them in airsoft shops, etc.
Here are some ideas for this:
1) Open to anyone 2) Players have to come in period lookalike uniforms - No modern camo (except flecktarn, and some of the russian camos) 3) Modern guns allowed (M14, SVD, Bolties, AK47/74, M16, mp5) BUT...NO RAILS, NO MODERN OPTICS 4) WW2 style games 5) WW2 structures? 6) smoke effects? 7) The machine guns (MG42 and Browning) must be there!
If you guys have any more ideas or suggestions on exactly how we should run this thing, feel free to post em!

I say we stick to ur tried and true scenarios. the grenade game (which no one has yet won). Prisoner escort, meeting engagement, road game.

I think the severely limiting factor is the uniform requirement. It might help a lot if a critical number of WW2 players can be assembled, and everyone else to be joined to either Axis or Allies depending on the general color of their BDU (brown versus green/grey or whatever). Most people just want to play, and to ask them to go out of their way to to "dress up" for the occassion already presupposes a predisposition for WW2 scenarios; I think it's better to just invite them to play as-is with the mentioned color-coding so they can just experience first how it feels like to be in "historical" scenarios.

I'm willing to throw in a few hats, helmets and uniforms to lend some authenticity.

While we're at it, how about a sale / swap bazaar? Noel certainly has enough merchandise to fill a stall. I have a few items I'd like to exchange for cash or other goods. I'll warrant some of the other guys have stuff they'd like to part with...or acquire.
And...it's a way for newbies to get started.
