Great collection and story but for me personally, I wouldn't think of this as up to the level of a Disneyland. With respect drevil, I think the following are far better candidates: First one would be the World War II Weekend in Reading Pennsylvania. This takes place every year, first week of June. If this was close to where I live (California), I'd be there all the time! They have tons of displays there of airplanes, vehicles, tanks, reenactors, World War II veterans, etc. There is even an area for vendors! And, if you can afford it, you can catch a ride on several types of planes including a B-17! For more info, here is their website: www.maam.org/maamwwii.html Since this is within driving distance from me, this is the next best thing. The Old Fort MacArthur Artillery Days, which takes place every second Saturday of July. This is coming up soon. Great displays of vehicles and period encampments. They don't offer rides but they do artillery demonstrations! Here is the website to their event: www.ftmac.org/OFMD2011.htmLastly, another local one in California would be the Marching Through History. These one includes planes flying by among other things. www.marchingthruhistory.com/These events evoke the feel of Disneyland for me. If you have the opportunity to attend any of this events, you'll know what I'm talking about. I can only imagine how big the events are in Europe.
