Hi Gents, The 2011 PSHS reunion was held this past weekend, May 20-21st. Donald showed the Forgotten Soldiers documentary in its entirety for the first time. My God... it was excellent. The LRRP and BMTU guys looked awesome and acted great. The film got me in tears many times. Everyone wanted to buy a DVD copy right away but not yet possible while going through the film festival route... There were only five Scouts who were able to attend, compared to 20+ two years ago. Nevertheless it was an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to organize and host the vets' reunioin and their families. Even though you guys are remote and far away, you were very much recognized. The Manila and HK were talked about a lot in discussions about the film and the events that you guys have participated in. We showed all the pictures from the recent events in the Philippines too. Kudos to all. Anyway, here's a video I put together. Cheers. --Victor Direct link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSg_kmKQg7k

Kalbs, great acting on your part. I love that one where you were laying down resting and smoking a cigarette.

I hope Donald can arrange something for you guys. I sent him an email.
The film is being submitted to film festivals. One of the difficulties that Donald told the audience at the reunion is that many of these film festivals look for topics on current social issues and historical topics have taken a back seat.
A good one is the GI Film Festival in Washington DC. It just passed this month. It's a military history oriented film festival. Donald was not able to submit the paperwork in time because he got sick. But next year would be a good shot.

Hi Vic, thanks for sharing this news and great job for hosting and organizing this event. Congrats to Don! A Job well done!
it's too bad Don missed the opportunity to show his film at the GI Film Festival. If next year would be a good shot, maybe some more special effects can be added to the film if Don would still want it.
My brother and his wife are willing to share their talents to help out on the effects part as their contribution to this meaningful project. Just to name a couple films that they have under their belt are Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows and Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon...shameless plug. seriously, just in case Don needs some help, these two are always more than willing to help.

Thanks. Donald said he's looking into entering it into the Hongkong Film Festival. You guys would be the guests of honor if there's a screening I hope he can post and chime in here sometime. He's been extremely busy.
