Friends;
Need your urgent help & response. Is there a Filipino under the WW2 British & US Airborne in Europe?
Currently the Buhay na Kasaysayan & Phil. Scout Heritage Society Phil. Chapter are doing a book about uniforms of Filipino Warriors during 1935-46 Commonwealth era. We are also including Filipinos who fought under foreign armies. We had our last photo shoot already we are about to start to make the editing, text, lay-out of the book. But in-case we need to insert additional photos, if we forgot something, we will.
We have friends here that have WW2 British & US Airborne uniform in Europe. Since we have it already we can just wear it & include it in the book in-case there was a Filipino under the British & US WW2 Airborne in Europe.
Appreciate your support & response. Pls. advise.
Mabuhay & thanks; Perry

Unless somebody else has evidence, I highly doubt that there are Filipinos serving in British and US WW2 Airborne. At that time, racism is still very prevalent and segregation is the order of the day. That's why there are separate units for the blacks such as "The Red Ball Express" and most notably, "The Tuskeegee Airmen". Even Americans of Japanese decent have their own units, the 442nd Regimental Team. Filipinos are definitely non-whites and would for sure be segregated. On the British side, they have their own native contingents who are separate. Most famous are the Ghurkas.
When Filipinos in World War II are mentioned, especially the books I have been reading on US Naval Warfare (other than the Philippine Scouts, of course), they are relegated to stewards or cooks. If there are Filipinos on the airborne team, please share them here. I would like to hear about them.

Hi Bravo Zero;
Thanks for the reply. Regading US Navy, its already confirmed that Filipinos are not only cooks, but also gunners & other combat units. There's a thread or e-mail I received that there's a place in the US that there's a naval base & there are Filipino communities there & many Filipinos are serving the US Navy which includes combat duties even before WW2. I believe that e-mail is an invitation to honor the Filipinos in that community. Also, even before WW1, Filipinos served under US Navy not only as cooks.
For British Infantry, Lawrence Alcaraz (Pinoy renactor in England) already mentioned there are Pinoys in the British regular infantry, aside from the RAF which 1 pinoy died when the German plane gunned down his RAF Military Cargo plane he flew in WW2. But unfortunately, I e-mailed to the forum already since I cannot contact Lawrence for a long time & cannot answer my e-mails.
Even in US Civil War, US WW1 units, there were already Pinoys mixed in the US Units (not segregated as 1 foreign unit).
Friends;
Just advise if anyone happens to know if therfe are Pinoys under the US & British Airborne. As much as possible, pls. advise the reference & the names.
Mabuhay; Perry

I forgot about that Veevee. Nice one.
I'm pretty sure Filipinos weren't just stewards and cooks in World War II US Service. As I have mentioned, the books that I have been reading such as "In Dangers Hour" and "Sea of Thunder", mention Filipinos as stewards to the Admirals. Which I thought was pretty cool.
Don't get me wrong, I would be proud to know of Filipinos who were in the front lines during WWII. So, if there are indeed those who served under the Allies, post them here.

Thanks very much Vee-vee;
That's a very good news especially to Pinoy reenactors with US Airborne uniform.
The good thing we know Filipinos who fighnt for other nations too, when we reenact folr example US Civil War, US Navy, etc... it will justify our reenactment. noe one can tell us we are in accurate wearing the wrong uniform ha-ha-ha. That's another good side of this.
Specially Bravo Zero who have plenty of complete / accurate foreikgn unifolrms.
Cheers; Perry

Hi Veevee;
Are these Filipinos joined fighting in Europe? We already have the reenactment photos of the Airborne who fought in the Liberation of the Philippines. I'm looking for those who fought in Europe wearing the same uniform of the 82nd or 101st Airborne with khaki uniform with their pockets with reinforcement of color Olive Drab. Its because we already have those 82nd or 101st uniform here with the BNK / PSHS members in the Phil. In-case there's a Filipino among them, we'll just include it in our book project.
Thanks to advise; Perry
