My wife complains of me leaving her alone to play airsoft on the weekends. So I wondered what If I can take her along but not bore her to death.
I'm thinking why not a picnic with the misus, in a nice airsoft game site. While the burgers are cooking, the coals heating up, the guys are playing and taking shots/pictures... some beers or wine, a good lawn chair, some binocs (to watch the game) and shade and time can slip by for them pretty quickly.
Just thinking out loud and hoping someone has already tried this and point out why it is not feasible or what is needed to make it work.

I don't see why not. We need a site with a possible cook site, an area where non combatants can lounge, as well as clean comfort rooms for the wives and kids. A portable grill would be nice but if there is an electric socket, I have a portable electric grill we can use for convenience.

I'm all for that. perhaps the angono site with it's large spaces, clean restrooms etc. would be conducive. Or Metrowalk with it's central location in the city and access to food and shopping (as well as other things. c'mon, guys, you know what i'm talking about) The metro walk people told e that we could reserve the place for a minimum of 10 players at P 150.!!!!

Albert, can you ask them if we can use one of their electrical sockets for the grill? And if so, what extra charges will they ask?

I agree completely. For me, a closer place matters too. Perhaps metro walk would be optimal

That would be awesome. Angono is also very nice, da wife is open to it as long as there are good/clean CRs and the area is pleasant enough. Other than cooking and eating, its more of the storytelling and witnessing what just happened in the game what makes the family feel like participants even from a safe distance. I was looking through True Value's portable outdoor furnishings and checking what can fit the back of a sedan or at least a minivan along with the rest of the airsoft gear. Metro walk is a great place to start to ease the family into the idea. If it all fails, its a mall for them to go around in. Although the scenery is not that great for pictures and its a speed ball game site. medicYeah grilling would be awesome, especially after a very tiring game. Its like the old hunter gatherer days, where the end of a extraneous physical activity is rewarded with a kill and a small feast.

This is a good idea guys, gives families a chance to see our hobby in action and other non-gaming family members to have a chance to get out a bit.

I agree that Metrowalk would be ideal for a start. Actually, I'm trying to ease my wife into the idea for it this Sunday. I foresee problems with the mosquitoes in Angono specially if there are kids around.

Just got off the phone with Albert. It appears that there's no shade for spectators at Metrowalk. Sitting Ducks might be the ideal venue for us. Here's why- I'm trying to get the wife to agree to a game+grill thing this coming Sunday. I'll be passing the half century mark of existence in this world on Saturday, January 22.

Well well, happy birthday medic! Hopefully the guns and grill idea picks off. And how about we spice things up a bit, by letting the losing side cook for the victors?
