So, what cool stuff did you guys get this 2010? Besides the usual Dad stuff like shirts and my usual bag of pistachio nuts I got something unusual this year but I must say very cool and have been playing with it all day.... A sewing machine. The coolest gift ever.

So far I've made two small pouches, one with a zipper. Really nice tool to have. Its computerized so it's easy to use.

got a christmas card from my mom with a wad of cash. The message read "for your baril barilan" (shooting shooting game). Thanks mom! I'm 45 years old and i still get cash for toys.
The funds will go towards the purchase of a working M14 for my Garand. Finally!

yup, but the original m14 fell apart. pieces were falling off it as we were mating it to the wood stock. The donor gun was so brittle i figured i might as well start from scratch. After all the reent breakdowns, i'm down to 2 functioning guns. my all time favorite mp44 and my future cyma garand.

kalbs, sewing machine? Now that's different and cool. I've been considering taking on sewing myself but don't know where to start. My wife got me the DVD set of "The Pacific". I've watched 5 episodes already. My wife is such a sweetie. Hope you guys had a great Christmas!

Aside from the assorted foodstuffs and the odd leather billfold from colleagues and patients, my wife gave me permission to get a few WW2 doo-dads, like the previously mentioned (see latest acquisitions) Walther PPK pistol, and I was able to get a discount on Opoy's MP-44 and extra mag. But the real surprise came on Christmas eve when I opened this: Uploaded with ImageShack.usIt's a hardbound coffee table book about the career of my all time favorite stop-motion animator of fantasy creatures. Best Christmas gift ever!

Cool book Medic. Reminds me of all those Sinbad movies I loved as a kid
B20, I've started making a dog jacket for my Lab Mocha and my daughter's Boxer Coco... Good practice and seems easy enough. I got a Brother BC-2500. It's really easy to use.
Labrador, sounds like you need a new M14. Quick! convert religions so you don't miss Hanukka and ask for a new M14 or ask Jimmi to make one from scratch using PVC, a coat hanger and wad of epoxy putty. He's our own MacGyver.

lab, maybe you should instead convert that old m14 of yours to a functioning BOGA gun for new year. At least you'll put it into good use for the new year.

Indeed Medic, its one great book, so dense with narratives and photos, I have had a wonderful time reading this book when I had a chance to secure one by chance at a thrift bookstore, tucked at the rear among less interesting books-- seems like someone was planning to go back for it : )... enjoy the images of classics- childhood memories- like my personal favorite- "Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger" : )... Enjoy!!!

My personal favorite was 20 Million Miles to Earth and its immortal monster, the Ymir. He would be resurrected years later as the Kraken (see cover of book) in Clash of the Titans.
