I was going through a stack of photo CDs and came across an old set of pictures. These were taken when in 2003 when I was very much into the 6th Scale Action Figures. I attended the Weekend Of Heroes and one of their featured event was a presentation by Ron Volstad. To fellow Dragon Models and Osprey Publication enthusiasts, the name needs no further introduction. I had the pleasure of hearing him talk about his art. It was just fascinating for me to see him in person. After his presentation, we had a chance to chat with him, get photo and autograph. I told him that more often, I bought the Dragon Scale models because of his artwork than the models themselves. To which he humbly said "Thanks very much!" Very nice and amiable guy. As you very well know, very talented! Here are the pictures: And lastly, my photo-op with the man. As I have mentioned, these are old photos but I thought you guys may find them interesting. Here's a link to his website: ronvolstad.com/index.html

Holy crap! Great stuff. Ron Volstad's artwork is really evocative. He's the modern warfare equivalent of Angus Macbride when it comes to Osprey book militaria artwork.

mournblade, I know what you mean. Angus Macbride is one of my favorite Osprey artists. I have several of his books on Samurai and medieval stuff.
