Jim, I guess this is still a better, more prudent thing to do.

I heard I can get a complete decommissioned nagant for around $150, then that would be the best base unit I can cast superficial bolt parts for the 2 stocks I got. crossing my fingers @ the battle of the bulge reenactment we will be going this weekend with some PS guys in DC. My other target is also an arisaka type 38 so we can build a modest scratchbuilt armory for our group to lend here's what I got from ebay: cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130466787000&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_2240wt_1139Jim : ) lets work on this! I was told I can get some more cheeper stocks at the militaria flee markets, want me to secure you one? $ 40 to 60 with bayonet and stripped trigger guard. I'll just have to cut up the stock so it can fit in the balikbayan box.

I'd love to get my hands on a Mosin nagant 91/30 stock. How would you join the wood back together though?

copy dan : ) the arisaka is indeed one of my priorities now-- so we can have a base gun for reference to reproduce, same with a complete nagant.

Jim--I use a very powerful clear wood glue at my studio in manila for our woodcarving, i'll also carve a canal inside to embed a steel rod for further reinforcement.

Oh i see! The only problem with that is that, after hollowing out the stock to fit a Bar10, there might not be enough wood left to make it stable to join? But i defer to your woodworking skills. At the very worst, at least we'll have a stock to copy from.

come to think of it, the actual mosin nagant stock is very thin- its a very lean stock as compared to the most, specially around the handguard, carving it out to fit the bar 10 shaft would be a concern, will have to make "daya" somewhere for reinforcement.

Really hoping these guns materialize and are skimishable. Just add a BAR and we'd be set =)

Ok, some news on the Mosin nagant....
1) It takes an AEG barrel and hop rubber 2) It has steel sears 3) It takes AEG springs.
OK, i'm officially getting one.
