Last month I was walking around Evangelista St., Bangkal, in Pasay checking out the second hand/ thrift shops when I noticed an open door in a row of apartments. Visible through the open door was a whole mess of military stuff. Lots of it. Saw lots of web gear and uniforms. What was strange was that it seemed to be from different eras. I asked the dude standing by the open door what this stuff was all about. He said that they rent out this gear to studios/ production houses doing war movies. They might be interested in selling bits and pieces of this stuff. I didn't ask. All they had was military gear. Nothing else.
It's a side street off Evangelista on the right side, where they sell second hand furniture and house stuff. The prop house itself isn't hard to find... It's a row of two storey apartments that have balconies on the second floor. Easily visible on the 2nd floor balcony of the prop house are mannequins dressed in Spanish conquistador outfits with armor and helmets and some old time cannons.

Amongst other immpression mistakes, please note that some of the gear is not period correct such as the helmet and web straps on the last picture. I also note in the first picture the bandage and .45 pistol magazine pouches should be the two button M1910 type and not the single lift-the-dot type.
If they rent out stuff they should promote some sort of period accuracy. There are a few more very obvious errors. Who can point them out?

True kalbs, not exactly the highest priority in films here. The mormon group was doing the best they could given the stuff that was available to them. They're not exactly reenactors. They just do this thing once a year as a tribute to their brethren who fell or were captured in bataan. Funny though, even though they were equipped with grease guns and carbines we were jealous because they had guns and we had to leave ours behind. The bataan events were held in the midst of the election gun ban.

just wondering, how'd they get their guns out if it was in the middle of an election gun ban?

panzerfront dan is the resident Divisoria and ukay-ukay expert. He has amazing luck when it comes to era compatible gear and clothing. I hope he posts here when he finds some interesting stuff.

That's great news. The airsoft shop next door to my place deals with Cop9 Gun but can be expensive at times but at least we'll finally have a supply. Any news on the MG42?
