Here's my very basic US Ranger impression. It's still an incomplete and semi-farby impression and doesn't hold a candle to the other US impressions featured here but here goes... Kit list: Helmet: Original WW2 early war front seam, fixed bails M1 helmet with modern liner, repro leather liner chinstrap and repro canvas shell chin strap Uniform: Local made M41 jacket (i'm wearing my local made german pants and a surplus bundeswehr shirt) Field gear: Late war Garand cartridge belt, repro m1928 haversack, repro canteen cover, modern aluminum canteen from crame Canvas Leggings: Had to have mine locally made to fit my freakishly large calves Weapon: Custom M1 Garand AEG

Perhaps a ranger diamond would be nice . Where did you get the m1923 cartridge belt, and the m1936 suspenders?

Ranger pants should have cargo pockets but different from that of the airborne . ETO wears wool shirt underneath

mikevictor - I bought the cartridge belt off j21. The suspenders are actually the straps of the haversack. I got the haversack and canteen cover from hikishop. @mcshine - yup, the HBT cargo pants have to pockets high on the hip. Wool? I was already sweating like a pig in my cotton uniform! Hahaha.

The suspenders are actually the straps of the haversack. Oh yeah. Didn't look more closely.

@sir Jimmi: Probably at the end of the year or next year. I'm thinking of going Airborne (which is why I went into this hobby in the first place [but I fell in love instead with the German impression]).
Still thinking about it though. Perhaps if the Garand conversion set will turn out to be relatively cheap, or if I find an M1A1 Tommy out there somewhere. Wish me luck! ;D

Sir Jimmi,
Do you have any info about the Ranger uniforms and kit used in the Cabanatuan POW camp rescue? I would like to get some info to start a set.
Thanks!

Sir Kalbs,
Thanks for your reply!
My gear is mostly Vietnam Era. I would appreciate info where I can get the ff. Are these available in original or repro? What advise can you give me on how to go about securing such items?

The HBTs, cap, roughout boots, eve the leggings can all be made locally by our dedicated tailor and shoemaker. As for the kit, try ebay sellers like hikishop. They have most everything cheap. If you want top notch expensive repros, you can got to Atthefront.com.

Thanks Sir Jimmi! Really appreciate the fast reply!
How much would the items that can be acquired locally (like the boots, uniforms, leggings, caps) cost? I would like to know so I can prepare the budget and justify it to my good wife! Hehehehe!
I already have a Marui Thompson so I think I would just build the rudimentary load bearing equipment.
