This was very helpful to me when I used to really research about Saving Private Ryan. It does not only provide extensive info about the movie and its characters (Miller, Horvath, Reiben, Mellish, Upham, Wade, Caparzo, Jackson and Ryan, primarily- I only got to know all their names here!). It also provides info about the equipment of the GIs during the invasion of France, besides a host of other things.
I suggest you go through each letter in the encyclopedia. A lot of interesting stuff actually pop up. For example, I got a lot of info about helmet markings because I was searching for Horvath, Mike.
