IMHO, the only thing better than airsofting is WW2 airsofting. I've been playing on and off since 1989, but it's only now that i feel like i've finally found the niche i want to be in. Make no mistake, WW2 airsoft is technically more difficult than modern airsofting. WW2 gear and weapons are less "tactical" than their modern counterparts. German gear especially, seems to be designed with more emphasis on looking great than actual ergonomics. I mean, have you ever tried to get anything out of the a-frame or breadbag? But it's also this simplicity that draws me to this niche. No tactical 3pt or bungee slings; no 3-4 dimension rail systems; no tactical lasers and flashlights; no electronic optics; no bulky chest rigs (but i have to admit putting on german field gear is quite a task). Just your snappy uniform, heavy but iconic steel helmet, classic leather gear, rifle with iron sights, and the game. I love it so much i've sold all my modern guns. Before the gun ban, i played in my WW2 lit almost every weekend, usually alone. Photo-ops are great and fun but my day is never complete with out wargames. I'll never forget the first and so far the only all WW2 airsoft game in the Philippines at Maxsports last August 2009...Amis vs. Germans. I hope our niche grows so that in the future, we can have much larger purely WW2 airsoft events.
Anyway, i blame this rave on airsoft withdrawal syndrome.
