Landsers in the Philippines, I suggest that we try to learn some marching songs as a group, as I read somewhere that the Krauts loved to sing during the war. It may also promote comradeship among the Germans in the group ;D
My suggestions: Lili Marlene Erika Rosemarie

I know lili marlene, have the tune and lyrics for erika.
I'd like to include westerwald lied - this was sung in cross of iron, and of course the old easy favorite....panzer lied. I figure the horst wessel song is out of the question eh (not politically correct).

Erika is really a great song! And yeah, I forgot Westerwald (dunno who's going to do the whistling though ). Panzerlied's inclusion is given already ;D (perennial favorite, as Sir Labrador said) German marching songs fascinate me so much because they're usually love songs or songs about nature, not very violent at all. But anyway, here are the songs we've suggested so far: Westerwaldlied Erika Rosemarie Panzerlied Lili Marlene

Oh and for our fallen comrades, the German version of Taps or Last Post:
Ich hatt' einen Kameraden

Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling From glen to glen, and down the mountain side The summer's gone, and all the flowers are dying 'Tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide. But come ye back when summer's in the meadow Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow 'Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so.
oops wrong thread ;D

Good one, sir Pumba! Actually, I really love that Irish song, though I didn't expect it to pop up in here ;D
