Hi jnmodeller!
That's great! McShine told me about those. Some questions lang; What I'm interested in are the PS boots. The boots in the pics, are they made from the "better" or "budget" leather? How much are the "better" leather boots? Were they copied by the shoemaker from a pic or from an actual pair of vintage boots? What would be the waiting time for a pair?

The PS Boots are the Budget one copied from a picture cost me 1,200php the good leather will cost 2,000php, as for the waiting time it depends more o less a week for a less work load.

darktide, He is making a PS Cavalry Lace-up Boots for me copied from an original vintage pair which I left with him to make a pattern for the benefit of other interested buyer. I will post it as soon as I got it this weekend. That pair of original lace up boots is from Alvin/Sgt. Alfonso. My jump " corcoran " boots which I bought from Epic Militaria, UK is also with him to make new patterns. Incidentally this is size 9 UK ( 43 Euro or 10 US ) which I posted in the blackmarket for anybody interested ( wrong size for me but brand new and unused condition ).

More questions (sorry but I don't know much about the PS)... What type of boots did the PS Coast Artillery Regiments use? Regarding the cavalry boots, does anyone have a pattern for the correct trousers that go with it? Were the cavalry boots ever worn with the "regular" trousers? How tall are the cavalry boots? In a bunker in Bottomside in Corregidor we did find boots (none were intact). I have always thought that they were Corcoran boots. I guess I was wrong. They were probably PS boots, as it was the same bunker where I found the 91st collar disc and other Coast Artillery stuff. The boots look very much like what's in the pics.

Those are great boots! I'm glad you have a shoemaker who can reasonably recreate these boots. Thumbs up. Can't wait to see the 1931 cavalry boots.
Darktide, The PS would have had the low quarter ankle boots. However if you think you saw corcorans in Corregidor, it's also entirely possible since the 503rd airborne jumped and fought there when the island was liberated.

Jojo,
The low ankle garrison boots leather color for the PS boots was called "ox blood" or the darker shade of brown similar to the Jump boot photos you posted. Not the light brown shade. have emailed you more photo ref. of the low ankle boots. Thanks for posting pics.

What type of boots did the PS Coast Artillery Regiments use?
- basic low ankle garrison boots like the infantry
Regarding the cavalry boots, does anyone have a pattern for the correct trousers that go with it?
- I have the repro khaki riding breeches.
Were the cavalry boots ever worn with the "regular" trousers?
- Cavalry wore their khaki riding breeches in the field and even with class A khaki dress uniform. That why their cavalry!
The infantry wore khaki riding breeches with their class A dress uniform only and khaki trousers with class B khaki long shirt and tie uniform only.
How tall are the cavalry boots?
- For the smaller stature of the PS it may differ, as long as they were in a comfortable length below the knee. Not to high as the top edge back section of the boot tends to push into the lower back knee muscles/tendons of the thigh leg when leg is bended closed or squat position and that rear part of the boot should not jam in to your back knee.
same idea when you buy shoes and the back part of the low cut hard leather shoe would cut into your lower achilles tendon.
I hope this helps!
Philip
