Hey darktide, did you get these while scuba diving or something? That's pretty cool! No, all the stuff in the pics were found topside. Corregidor has loads of stuff like these. It's hard, but not impossible, to find small items underwater. The most interesting WW2 military-related items I have seen underwater would be; 6 Mitsubishi Zero fighters inside the cargo hold of a ship sunk in Truk Lagoon (also known as Chuuk) during Operation Hailstone. More than 60 Japanese vessels of different types were sunk in the lagoon. There were also tanks, bulldozers, cases of rifles and machine guns, ammunition, artillery shells and other aircraft. You name it, it was there! Stacks of Japanese helmets, lots of rifles and machine guns, gas masks and other stuff inside the "Helmet Wreck" in Palau. Palau also has lots of Mitsubishi Zeros and other aircraft in shallow water. Some can be seen snorkeling. You would be surprised how small a Zero is. The M10 Tank Destroyers in La Union... There were only four (4) at the time... They found 2 more since then, so the total now is 6. I should be going back there soon to shoot these on video. One of the worst moments of my life... Trying to recover a Japanese Diving Helmet (something like the US Mk V) from inside a sunken Japanese vessel off Tangat Island, Coron, Palawan. It was pinned against several pieces of metal by other pieces of metal and I needed a jack to get it out, which I didn't have. When I went back a couple of years later it was gone. This was one of several Japanese vessels sunk off Coron by US dive bombers. I have a DVD of the US dive bomber attack on these ships. It's pretty wild. Capt'n Greg's Dive Shop in Sabang Beach, Puerto Galera has several items recovered from the Coron Fleet on display. Several of the dive shops in Coron display recovered items as well.

Oh okay. Still pretty cool though.
You've scuba dived in Truk Lagoon? Wow, I'm both impressed and envious. I remember reading about this National Geographic Magazine that was published either in the late 70s or early 80s. The wrecks are all rusty and covered with undersea plant life but still very recognizable.
I took a class in scuba diving in 2007. I was pretty good in the pool. When we went to the beach, the waves were a little high. There were three of us students and two instructors. Since I did good on the pool, the instructors guided the other two. I just got hit by one wave after another. I was holding on to my gear and was panicking. By the time I was in the open, I got cramps and that added to my distress. Needless to say, I didn't enjoy my first dive. And I haven't been back since. I think I'd sky dive again first before I go back scuba diving.
I think it's great that you get to scuba dive in different locations around the world. That's awesome!

Yes, I've been to and dived Truk, Palau (I worked on a live-aboard dive boat there for a while), Peleliu (an island in Palau) and a bunch of other places... Work mostly. Peleliu was interesting. It had the highest casualty rate of any battle in the Pacific war. On land, lots of destroyed Japanese aircraft, knocked out Japanese tanks and US Amtrac type vehicles, huge guns in caves... It was the island with the most military junk I have ever seen up to this day. I saw houses using Japanese helmets as flower pots. You should try diving again, I can help you out. I probably know your Instructor... I'm an Instructor Trainer, by the way...

With the economic state nowadays, it'll probably take a very long while before I'll consider scuba diving again. How long you've been diving and also how long you've been an instructor. I forgot the names of my instructors na eh. It's been two years na kasi. But they are based at Manhattan Beach/Torrance area.
