Guys, I need help here. I'll be in Hongkong on April 8. And am planning on buying a Thompson M1A1. Any thoughts on the check in procedure for this? I'm sure most of you have bought AEG's in Hongkong and brought them over to the Phil. So, do I need to declare my AEG in case I check this in? Or is this automatically considered a toy and hence will go under the scanners unnoticed. And if this do get noticed will I be in a lot of trouble? or will they just let me go? This being a toy gun after all.

I brought in a GBB Ingram from HK once.
What I did is disassemble the gun and divide the parts over two backpacks. Then I checked in the backpacks when I flew home.
People at customs here almost never open backpacks, for some reason (I've been traveling out of the country since 1994 and I've never had any of my backpacks inspected by Philippine customs).
Still and all...there's always that random chance.

I also used to bring AEG, Parts, Pistols and GBBR from HK no prob as long as you have the original receipt from the store you bought. - Declare it, and some airport police w/ MP5 will show up and inspect it, just give them the receipt and your ok - Dont declare it, 2 things can happen 1. walk away w/o any hassle or 2. Airport police will stop you at boarding gate and will inspect your luggage but no worry just show your receipt and your ok. Dont mind about the customs here in Phils, Like what Dondi said they dont open up your luggage but sometimes they ask you whats inside it.. of couse dont tell them it was an airsoft item.
Happy Shopping

You CAN bring it out of HK. Just declare it. There WILL be an inspection with HK airport police (armed with mp5s). The real question is whether you can bring it INTO the Philippines. Because as per FED rules, you need a special license to import airsoft.
