You guys familiar with the boot shops at EDSA-Guadalupe, flanking SOGO Hotel?
Went there today to look for half boots. First shop I went into had some stock at the back, which looked like no one has bothered to even look at them for ages. No one human, that is.
Asking price: P400. Wouldn't even give me a discount.
Tried to stick my foot in one, but "something" was blocking my entry. Upended the bloody thing, and was...rewarded with a cascade of roach poo. A lot of it. Say, enough to fill a coffee cup.
But wait, there's more!
An adult roach plopped out and struggled furiously to right itself on the floor.
Then another. And another. I stopped counting at 4 (adults).
The shop keeper just...nonchalantly tried to sweep the lot away. Didn't even try to kill any of the buggers, which are now likely making new homes in the rest of the stock.
And this was just the left boot.
Needless to say, I took my custom elsewhere.

Actually, went to another shop just a few feet away called "Rueda's". Scored a pair of black leather half boots (pebbled surface) for P600, sans roaches.
